טוֹבָה, favor. Sot. 47ᵇ משרבו מקבלני טוֹבָתְךָ ומחזקני טוֹבוֹתֶיךָ (read: ומחזיקני) when those became numerous who say, ‘I accept thy favor’ and ‘I shall appreciate thy favors’ (in official life); Tosef. ib. XIV, 7 טוֹבֹתֶיךָ ומחזיקני טוֹבָתְךָ …; a. fr.—בַּטּ׳ as a favor, i.e. expected to be reciprocated, שלא בט׳not expected &c. Shebi.
