חוּץ I, to be tight, immovable. Makhsh. III, 8 בשביל שיָחוּצוּ that they may become tight (by swelling). Mikv. X, 3 בזמן שהיא חוֹצָה (cmp. part. fem. חוֹלָה, fr. חוּל) if it is tight (immovable).
חוּץ I, to tighten, tie closely. Y. Ḥag. III, 79ᵃ top (חָצִין) חָצִים אותה they tie it watertight.
