זַלְדְּקַן, (a comp. of זל, v. זלל, a. דְּקַן) thin-bearded, one with a downy beard. Snh. 100ᵇ (a citation fr. Ben Sira) ז׳ קורטמן (Ms. M. דלדקן, Var. דל דקן, זיל ד׳ &c., v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note) a thin-bearded person is sharp-minded. Y. Taan. IV, beg. 67ᵇ; Y. Meg. IV, 75ᶜ top הוה מעבר ז׳ removed one with a downy beard (from pronouncing the priestly benediction).
