הֲשָׂמָה, (שׂוּם, Hif.), הֲשָׂמַת עַיִן putting an eye upon, paying kind attention to Gen. R. s. 93 [read:] זו היא ה׳ ע׳ שאמרת נהפך הדבר לסמיות עינים is this the kindness thou hast promised (Gen. XLIV, 21)? This is blindness; (Yalk. Gen. 150 שִׂימַת).
