הוֹנָאָה, (= אוֹנָאָה; ינה) oppression, wrong. Sifra B’har ch. III, Par. 3 הניית ממון … הניית דברים, read הוֹנָיַית.—Esp. (law) imposition, fraudulent representation; redress in case of overreaching, v. אוֹנָאָה. B. Mets. IV, 6 Y. ed. (Mish. ib. IV, 7 או׳) ההינייה וכ׳ the overreaching, to be actionable, must be at least four M’ah &c. Y. Keth. XI, 34ᶜ top אין למקח ה׳ וכ׳ against purchase there is no claim for overreaching, i.e. the purchase itself is not invalidated. Y. B. Mets. IV, 9ᵈ top ה׳ עצמה the actual amount overcharged.
