אוֹנָיָה, (= אוֹנָאָה; cmp. Ezek. XLVI, 18) prop. oppression, wrong, hence confiscation, dispossession. Pl. אוֹנָיוֹת. Midr. Till. to Ps. CIV, 24 (play on oniyoth ibid.) אלו הא׳ וכ׳ those are the oppressive measures which they inflict upon Israel, which they order to be written out eveny day. *Pesik. R. Hash. p. 151ᵃ; Yalk.
