הַדְלָקָה, (דלק) lighting, kindling. Sabb. 23ᵃ ה׳ עושה מצוה the kindling (of the Ḥanukhah lights) is the ceremony prescribed, contrad. to הנחה the placing it. Ib. II, 6 (31ᵇ) הַדְלָקַת הנר kindling the Sabbath lights. Y. Ter. V, 43ᶜ top למשחה לה׳ l’moshḥah (Num. XVIII, 8) means (also) for lighting purposes (cmp. מִישְׁחָא). Num. R. s. 15, beg. על הַדְלָקָתָן וכ׳ concerning feeding them with olive oil.
