דּוּץ II, (contr. of דְּעַץ) to prick, stick, squeeze. Sabb. 50ᵇ דָּצָהּ שלפה וכ׳ if he stuck it in, pulled it out &c.—Ib. 156ᵇ דָּצְתָהּ בגודא (Ms. O. דעיצתא בביזעא, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 30) she stuck it (the brooch) into the wall. Ḥull. 93ᵇ אי דָץ ביה מידי if he stuck something into the nostrils (so as to keep them open).
