גַּעְגַּע, Ithpa. אִתְגַּעְגַּע, אִיגַּעְגַּע ch. same, to roll one’s self, wallow. Lam. R. to II, 2 as long as that hen מִתְגַּעְגְּעָא בקיטמא wallows in the ashes (as Israel lives in its religious element). Koh. R. to XI, 1 מנין מְגַעְגְּעִין בדמא clothes rolled in blood (suspicious of murder).—Tanḥ. Aḥaré 3 (ref. to Job XXXIX, 30) חמי אפרוחיו מגעגעין בדם וכ׳ he sees his brood wallowing in blood (Aaron sees his sons dead), and is silent; Lev. R. s. 20 ראה … באַדְמָא Ar. (ed. באדמה); Pesik.
