Job XV, 32 Var. his enclosure (v. כִּילְּתָא) shall not be גנונא ed. Lag. (ed. גננא) a (wreathed) state-room (h. text רעננה; cmp. Cant. I, 16). Targ. Y. Ex. II, 1 גי׳ דהילולא. Targ. Ps. XIX, 6; a. e.—Y. Yeb. XIII, 13ᶜ bot. עבד לה גנון if a bridal room is prepared for her. Y. Ber. II, 5ᵃ they went מיעבד גְּנוּנֵיה דר׳ וכ׳ to prepare the bridal chamber of &c.; Bab. Ber. 16ᵃ קטרין ליה גננא wreathed the bridal chamber of &c. Ruth R. to I, 17 (sect. 3) [read:] דיהא גְנוּנָךְ חסר וכ׳ that thy state-room in the hereafter have one jewel less than &c., i.e. that the jewel given thee in this world be deducted from thy future reward.
