גְּלוּסְקָא, c. (a contraction of גלוסביקא or גלופסיקא, Lesbiacus, Lesbiaca, v. כְּלוּפְסִין, לִבְסִים, קְלוּפְ׳, גְּלוּפְ׳; as to guttural before ל, v. גְּלוּגְדְּקָא) relating to Lesbos (an island of the Aegean Sea, noted for its fertility and luxuries), Lesbian, whence
גְּלוּסְקָא, [in Syriac] name of a brand of white flour (P. Sm. 726), a white and delicate bread (cmp. Athenæus Deipnosophistæ III, 111). Tosef. Ber. גְּלוּסְקָא, a superior sort of olives already pressed when appearing in the market (θλασταί, σταφυλίδες, v. Athenæus l. c. II, 56; cmp. כְּלוּפְסִין). Ab. Zar. II, 7 זיתי קלוסקא המגולגלין Y. ed.
