גֵּיס, (גנס; cmp. גנז a. כנס; Syr. גסא divitiae P. Sm. 757) spoils, heaped up treasures. Pl. גִּיסִּין. Ex. R. s. 9 (ref. to Esth. I, 4) ששה ג׳ וכ׳ he showed them six collections every day, and not two of them alike; Esth. R. to l. c. ששה ג׳ היה פותח וכ׳ (ed. ניסין, נוסין, corr. acc.) six treasuries he opened to them &c.; (Yalk. Esth. 1046 תסבוריות; Targ. II Esth. I, 4 בי גנזי).
