בַּכִּיר, a ch. (b. h. בַּכֻּרָה; בכר) early, first-ripening, opp. לקיש or אפיל. Snh. 18ᵇ אם ב׳ ולקיש וכ׳ when the early and the late seeds blossom simultaneously &c.; Y. ib. I, 18ᶜ bot.; Y. R. Hash. I, 58ᵇ bot. (corr. acc.). Gen. R. s. 61; Koh. R. to XI, 6 (ref. to Koh. ib.) אם זרעת בב׳ if thou hast sown in the early season. Ib. הב׳ the early seed.
