אָצַר, to lock up, hoard, gather; cmp. גָּנַז. B. Bath. 90ᵇ אוֹצְרֵי פירות those who store up fruit (for speculation). Ib. אין אוֹצְרִין וכ׳; Tosef. Ab. Zar. IV (V), 1 (אצר a. עצר used promiscuously) you must not hoard up (for speculation) such things as are necessaries of life; [correct אין א׳ דברים שיש … כגון יינות שמנים וסלתות ופירות].
