אֲסָרָה אֲסָרָה, (אסר) the act of tying (the horses), harnessing (the chariot). Gen. R. s. 55 תבא א׳ שאסר וכ׳ the harnessing which Joseph did himself (in honor of his father, Gen. XLVI, 29) will stand against the harnessing by Pharaoh (to pursue the Israelites, Ex. XIV, 6); i.e. the merits of Joseph’s filial love will protect Israel from the hostility of Pharaoh. ערכים סמוכים
