אֲמִירָה I אֲמִירָה I f. (אמר I) 1) speaking, speech. Gen. R. s. 5, beg. לא א׳ לא דיבור no (power of) speech or word; a. fr.—הא א׳ this is speech, i.e. this is right. Y. Snh. IV, 22ᵇ top; VI, beg. 23ᵇ. Y. B. Kam. IX, beg. 6ᵈ (contracted) הא׳ same. —2) the word amar (אמר) in the Scripture text. Y. Snh. VII, 25ᵇ bot. נאמר כאן א׳ וכ׳ here amar is used &c.; as well as amar here indicates that the word is considered a deed &c.; a. e. —3) dedication (cmp. אֵימוּרִים. Kidd. I, 6 אֲמִירָתוֹ לגבוה וכ׳ dedication to the Lord (by word of mouth) is equal to what delivery is in private transactions.—Pl. אֲמִירוֹת mostly in the sense of 2). Num.
