אָגָא, (Samar. אגה rendition of b. h. to spell (letters), blaspheme, swear. Snh. 101ᵇ תנא (ו)בגבולין ובלשון אגא Ar. (ed. עגה), the Boraitha remarks (to ההוגה as in Mishn. a. l.) this (condemnation of one uttering the name of the Lord) refers to the country (not the Temple), and in the sense of Samaritan aga (swearing). Cmp. Y. Snh. X, 28ᵇ top כגון אילין כותאי וכ׳ in a way as those Samaritans swear.
