רָבָב רָבָב, (v. רָבַבPi.) a thick, viscid mass, fat; grease, pitch &c. Sot. 49ᵃ אילמלא … מוכרי ר׳ but for David’s prayer, all Israelites would be sellers of grease. Zeb. 98ᵇ ר׳ על בגדו וכ׳ grease on a garment is an unlawful interposition (at its immersion), but if he is a seller of grease &c. Sabb. 20ᵇ של ר׳ (מדורה) a fire made with fatty substances. Ib. 78ᵇ ר׳ כדי לסוך וכ׳ fat, as much as is required to smear under a small cake.
