קָשַׁשׁ I (or קוּשׁ) (b. h.; to join closely; to collect (v. Targ. Zeph. II, 1), esp. to gather wood, rubbish &c. Gen. R. s. 44 כמה … שׁיָקוֹשּׁוּ אותה עכשיו שקָשַׁשְׁתָּה וכ׳ how many working men should I have needed to gather it! Now that thou hast done it, come and receive thy reward; Yalk. Is. 313 שׁיְקוֹשְׁשׁוּ; Yalk. Gen. 76 שׁיְקַשְׁקְשׁוּ … שׁקִישְׁקשְׁתָּ.
