מְתַחְתָּא, (מְתַח) stretching; מ׳ דמגילתא the borders of stretched parchment, distinguishable by their darker color. Gitt. 88ᵃ דידיעא ביה מ׳ דמ׳ when the borders of the document are distinguishable (evidence that nothing has been cut off).
