לְתִיתָה, (לָתַת) moistening the grain before grinding. Pes. 36ᵃ ל׳ ליתה בזריזין the moistening is not done by careful persons (priests). Ib. 40ᵃ אי אפשר לנקייה בלא ל׳ Ms. M. (ed. נקייה) white flour cannot be produced without moistening. Ib. אי לא דבעי ל׳ וכ׳ if it required no moistening what is the guard for? (v. שִׁימּוּר).
