    Hif. - הֵגִיס to stir (with a ladle &c.). Makhsh. V, 11 מֵגִיסָה בקדרה she stirs the pot. Ab. Zar. 38ᵇ top ומֵגִיסָה and may stir it.—Sabb. 67ᵇ המגיס בפני אפרוחים (missing in Ms.) who stirs a dish before chickens (a superstitious practice). Meïl. 17ᵃ, a. e.
