בִּתְיָה, (b. h., I Chr. IV, 18) pr. n. f. Bithiah, daughter of Pharaoh; in legend, name of Moses’ foster-mother. Lev. R. s. 1, a. e (as if בַּת יָהּ daughter of the Lord, pious). Snh. 31ᵇ לדזיו ליה כבר ב׳ שלם salutation to him whose splendor is like that of the son of B. (Moses).
