שְׁתוּקִי שְׁתוּקִי, (v. שָׁתוּק) one belonging to the class of שָׁתוּק, esp. an illegitimate child of unknown fatherhood. Kidd. IV, 1. Ib. 2 ש׳ כל שהוא מכיר וכ׳ a sh’thuḳi is he who knows his mother, but does not know who his father is, contrad. to אסופי. Yeb. 100ᵇ עשרה … הוולד ש׳ if ten priests stood together, and one (unknown which) separated and had intercourse, the child is a sh’thuḳi (admitted neither to inheritance nor to priesthood); Keth. 13ᵇ; a. e.—Fem. שְׁתוּקִית. Kidd. 73ᵃ אלא מעתה שתוקי ש׳ לא ישא if this be so, let a sh’thuḳi not be permitted to marry a woman whose father is unknown.
