שָׁבִיס, band, esp. (של סבכה) ש׳ metal (or woolen) band with which the hair-net is fastened. Tosef. Kel. B. Bath. V, 15 ש׳ של שבכה טמא וכ׳ a net-band is susceptible of uncleanness for itself, because one may (detach and) fit it for another net. Ib. 16 ומשום חיבורי ש׳ וכ׳ but (gold foils and plates) used as fastenings of a hair-band are susceptible of uncleanness. Kel. XXVIII, 10 ש׳ שלה the band of the net. Neg. XI, 11. Sifra Sh’mini, ch.
