רוֹנָן, (רָנַן) grumbler, inclined to suspicion or litigation.—Pl. רוֹנָנִים, רוֹנָנִין. Tanḥ. P’kudé 7 ישראל ר׳ הם the Israelites are grumblers (will suspect me of dishonesty). Sifré Deut. 12 (ref. to ריבכם, Deut. I, 12) מלמד שהיו ר׳ which shows that they loved litigation; Yalk. ib. 801 רוגנין (corr. acc.; v. Berliner to Rashi on Deut. l. c.).—Fem. רוֹנָנִית. Pesik.
