קוֹדֶם, (קָדַם) antecedent; (conj. a. prep.) before. Pes. 54ᵃ ק׳ שנברא העולם before the world was created. Gen. R. s. 1 ק׳ לאותו שכתוב בו וכ׳ prior to that (divine throne) about which is written, ‘firm is thy throne &c.’ (Ps. XCIII, 2). Ib. s. 9 ק׳ לכן ere this.
