[read:] צח לי בים … ואדום למצרים בים; ib. צח לי בעו"הב ואדום לי בעוה"ז; Yalk. Cant. 988 (corr. acc.). Yalk. Sam. 109 (play on צ̇ל̇צ̇ח̇, I Sam. X, 2) צ̇ח̇ צ̇ל̇ יום bright is the shadow of the day (of Saul); צ̇ח̇ צ̇ל̇ של זקן ומלכים וכ׳ bright was the shade (declining day) of the patriarch (to whom it was said at Bethel), ‘and kings shall proceed from thee’ (Gen. XXXV, 11); Midr. Sam. ch. XIV צלצח של הזקן (read: צ̇ל̇צ̇ח̇ צ̇ח̇ צ̇ל̇ וכ׳).—2) brightness. Ib. צלצח כצַחוֹ של יום (read: צֵל צַח) a shade bright as the brightness of the (full) day.
