סֵיבְתָא, eldership, receiving the title ofסָבָא. Y. Bicc. III, 65ᵈ וכתב ליה מן סֵיבְתֵיה בגוה (not ויהב) and he informed him therein of his (expected) appointment as elder.—Pl. סֵיבָתָא, סֵבָ׳. Ib. בגין אילין ס׳ קום וכ׳ for the sake of those appointments (which will take place), rise, come to &c.
