מְחָאָה, (מָחָה) protest to prevent the claim of undisturbed possession (v. חֲזָקָה). B. Bath. 38ᵃ, a. e. מ׳ שלא בפניו הויא מ׳ a protest (before witnesses) in the absence of the usurper is a legal protest (prevents the claim of undisturbed possession being recognized). Ib.ᵇ היכי דמי מ׳ וכ׳ what is a legal protest? If he merely says, This man is a robber, it is not a legal protest.
