מַאְפֵּלְיָה f. (b. h.; preced.) 1) darkness, gloom. Yalk. Jer. 267 (ref. to Jer. II, 31) שמא … שהיא נאה והיא ארץ מ׳ did I tell them that it was a beautiful land, and it was a land of gloom? —2) (homil.) lateness, procrastination.
