לָחַץ, (b. h.) to squeeze; to force, press. Kidd. 22ᵃ (ref. to Deut. XXI, 12) ‘thou shalt bring her to thy house’ מלמד שלא יִלְחֲצֶנָּהּ במלחמה this intimates that he must not urge her (to yield to him) during the war. B. Mets. 59ᵇ והלוֹחֲצוֹ and he who presses him (the stranger), contrad. to אִנָּה.—Part. pass. לָחוּץ, pl. לְחוּצִים. Num. R. s. 11 דחוקים ול׳ pushed and pressed.
