לֶבֶט, (preced.) trouble, misery.—Pl. לְבָטִים, constr. לִבְטֵי. Gen. R. s. 52, beg. (ref. to Prov. X, 8 ילבט, with play on לוט) הביא עליו לִבְטֵי לְבוּטִים Lot brought upon himself the miseries of the outcasts (ref. to Deut. XXIII, 4 sq.); Yalk. Prov. 946 לבטי לבטים troubles after troubles.
