כִּיבּוּד m. (כָּבֵד) 1) doing honor to; respect, reverence. Peah I, 1 כ׳ אב ואם filial respect. Sifra K’dosh. beg.; Kidd. 31ᵇ, a. e. (ref. to Lev. XIX, 3, a. Ex. XX, 12) איזהו מורא ואיזהו כ׳ what constitutes filial fear (reverence), and what filial respect?—Pesik. R. s. 23—24; Y. Kidd. I, 61ᵇ top אדיין לחצי הכ׳ וכ׳ he has not come up yet to half of the filial duties which the Law implies; a. fr.—2) sweeping, cleansing. Nidd.
