Lag. גּוּהֲרִין.). —2) (= יְהִירוּתָא) haughtiness, assumption. Ber. 17ᵇ מחזי כי׳ it looks like an assumption (to appear more observant than others). Ib. חייש לי׳ cares for the appearance of assumption (and therefore forbids); Pes. 55ᵃ. Succ. 26ᵇ לית ביה משום י׳ there is no appearance of presumption to be apprehended in doing so.
