חָגָז, (cmp. חגב, חגס) a species of wild bees, or locusts. Sabb. 106ᵇ הצד חגבים ח׳ וכ׳ Ms. O. (Alf. ed. Const. חִיגְזִין, Rashi הֲגָ׳, ed. גזין, v. Rabb. D. S. a. l. note 200) if one catches (on the Sabbath) locusts, ḥăgazin &c.; Y. ib. XIV, beg. 14ᵇ חגיין ותושין, read חגזין ויתושין.—Bekh. 7ᵇ דבש הגזין והצירעין (= הַה׳, cmp. הֶמְסֵס; Makhsh.
