וָאלִי, (ואל, cmp. b. h. יָעַל a. הוֹאִיל) propriety. לא ו׳ it is unbecoming. Ned. 8ᵇ לא ו׳ למישׁרא וכ׳ Ar. (ed. שרי, Var. יאי; Naḥm. יאלי) it is unbecoming (for a pupil) to absolve from a vow in a place where his teacher lives. Contr. וָלָא.
