הַרְוָוחָה

הַרְוָוחָה, relief, release. Ex. R. s. 10, end; Tanḥ., ed. Bub., Vaëra 22; Yalk. Ex. 186 (cmp. הֶמְסֵס as to fusion of article). Tanḥ. Mikk. 10, v. בָּסַר I; a. e.
הַרְוָוחָה, plenty, liberal provision; comfort. Snh. 21ᵇ לא צריכא לה׳ the word לוֹ is to intimate a liberal appropriation (for the army). Sifré Deut. 306 ואין לשון פתיחה אלא לשון ה׳ the word ‘opening’ has the meaning of comfort, opp. לשון דוחק. Keth. 43ᵃ אלמנתו לא ניחא ליה בה׳ וכ׳ as to his widow he cares not for her living comfortably (from her own earnings besides the legal alimentation) &c.
