הֵיגֶה, pl. הֵיגִין, הֵיגִים (v. הָגָה, cmp. אֵגֶה) a prickly shrub or tree (v. Sm. Ant. s. v. Acanthus II, Acantha), prob. hollow. Erub. 34ᵇ ההי׳ וכ׳ Ms. M. (ed. ההג׳; Tosef. Kil. III, 15 ed. Zuck. החגין, oth. ed. חבין, corr. acc.) hegin belong to the class of trees. Lam. R. introd. (R. Naḥman) (play on חגים ינקופו, Is. XXIX, 1; v. הֵיגְתָא) the deserted roads מעלין הי׳ (Yalk. Is. 302 הי׳ וקוצים) are overgrown with shrubs (and thorns).
