Sifré Deut. 7 ye need no arms, אלא קובע ד׳ ומחלק but one has only to put up compasses and divide (the land in shares); Yalk. ib. 801 לא קובע ד׳ (some ed. יופיטיו, corr. acc.); Targ. Y. Deut. I, 8 קבעו דִּיפְטַיָּא וכ׳ (דִּפְ׳) put up the compasses &c.
