גִּיזּוּם, (גָּזַם) cutting, tapping. Ab. Zar. 50ᵇ ג׳ אברויי וכ׳ tapping is an act of strengthening the tree. Ib. סכין שמן לג׳ you may put oil on the cut (to stop the flow of sap).
