בעד, (Arab.) to keep off. Imper. IV אַבְעִד. Cant. R. to IV, 1 (ref. to מבעד ib.) ל׳ ערבי וכ׳ it is Arabic; if one desires to say to one, Make room for me (or, Let me alone), he says אבעד לי (some ed. מבעד).
