בִּטְבֵּט, (Pilp. of בוט or בטט, v. בטי) to swell. —Hithpa. הִתְבַּטְבֵּט; Nithpa. נִתְבַּטְבֵּט to swell, grow. Tanḥ. Mishp. 9 as the bite of a snake is not felt עד שנ׳ עליו until a swelling sets in, so is usury not felt עד שמִתְבַּטְבֶּטֶת עליו until it has grown upon him (the debtor). Ex.
