בזי, בָּזָה (b. h.; √בז to tread, v. בּוּז) to tread upon, whence to despise, spurn, degrade. Ab. d’R. Nath. ch. XXIX הבּוֹזֶה את חבירו וכ׳ he who spurns his neighbor (rebuking him) for a sacred cause. Ib. הן בּוֹזִין בעצמן they make themselves contemptible (neglecting their appearance).
