אֲשִׁימָא, (b. h.) pr. n. m. Ashima, idol of the Ḥamatheans. Y. Ab. Zar. III, 42ᵈ top (ref. to II Kings XVII, 30) אימרא וכ׳ A. is represented as a lamb, as you read el hāāsham (Lev. V, 16); Snh. 63ᵇ called ‘bald buck’ (goat).
