אַרְזַפְתָּא II, (v. זַיִף, a. אַרְדַּפְנֵי = הַרְדַּ׳; cmp. Löw, Pfl. p. 320) hypericum (barbatum), St. John’s wort, a plant said to be fatal to cattle. B. Kam. 47ᵇ באר׳ Ar. a. Ms. H. (Var. הרזיפא, v. Koh. Ar.; ed. אפר׳) under ‘poison’ is meant arzafta which may also be called peré (fruit, produces of the earth). B. Bath. 20ᵃ אר׳ Ar. (Ms. אר׳, changed into אפ׳ as ed.).
