אָפַץ, (√אף, v. אפף; cmp. חפץ) to press, squeeze, contract.—Part. pass. אָפוּץ. Ohol. IX, 3 a gap which was filled with straw או אֲפוּצָה or was made narrower by squeezing the parts together (e.g. pressing the lid down). Tosef. ib. X, 6 אֲפוּסָה a narrowing of the gap by pressing. Y.
