אַלְיָה f. (b. h.; לוי; v. infra) attachment, whence 1) (cmp. זָנָב, גֹּונְבָא) tail, fat-tail. Ab. Zar. 25ᵃ (ref. to I Sam. IX, 24) what means v’heãleha (and that which is upon [or by] it)? שוק וא׳ that means the leg (with thigh) and the fat-tail. מאי והעליה וכ׳ and why is it called ‘and that which is upon it’?
