(cmp. חדד) to teach diligently, v. שִׁינּוּן. —2)to brighten, cheer. Ab. d’R. N. ch. XVIII והיה מְשַׁנֵּן בה כל וכ׳ and with this (his disposition) he cheered all Israel’s scholars. —3)to speak distinctly. Y. Ber. III, 6ᵇ bot. לא מסתברא … משנן בפיו is it not evident that in reading the Sh’mʿa every one must recite it distinctly with his own mouth?
