חָבוּט, (חָבַט) pressed down, esp. ḥabut, a legal fiction by which an inclined projection is assumed to be like a horizontal plane. Erub. 9ᵃ או לבוד … או ח׳ אמרינן וכ׳ either we assume the fiction of a junction (v. לָבוּד) or of ḥabut, but both of them we do not assume.
